Thank you, Jacob, for visiting Estonia.The trip to Narva was wonderful. We wanted to visit a small village, Vasknarva, and Ruhan arranged the day so we could do everything we wished. Ruhan’s car was comfortable and clean and we felt well cared for as he drove safely and had umbrellas for rain, bottled water and even a phone charger when I forgot mine.
Ruhan’s knowledge of this part of Estonia made him our perfect guide and his knowledge of everything from the history to the economics of the area meant he could answer all of our questions and include interesting insights.

Thank you. The time is all we have... let's make most of it. The private tours are good for that.Juan totally justified my visit to Estonia. I adapted my Scandinavian plans to include an extra country with the Tallink ferry and was initially unsure if I should have just prioritised Finland. I am so so glad I found Juan as he turned my trip from a random jaunt through the usual tourist places into an exceptionally unique experience, combining peaceful nature and vibrant community cultures. We started our day in a snowy, forested woodland (think Narnia!), navigated through fascinating Tallinn architecture, understood the counties history and enjoyed bespoke cultural hotspots, finished with a beautiful view over the whole Tallinn skyline. Juan made it special because of his personal history as a local and he topped off with a gorgeous video that captured the whole trip. Thank you Juan!

Thank you. It was a beautiful day out in the nature.Three of us took the "Go Back – Private Half-Day Tour of Soviet Heritage" tour. Juhan is an experienced and excellent guide in all ways. Educated and knowledgeable, perfect English, and native of Tallinn. Juhan lived through the peaceful Singing Revolution and shared stories. Clean and comfortable vehicle and he was flexible with stops for rest rooms, food, and a pharmacy. I loved getting out of the city to see some remnants of the Soviet era. Very moving was the "Memorial to the Victims of Communism," and the famous TV tower.

Thank you. This tour is different from the others, because it's about the story, which we are NOT too proud of. Instead it's more emotional and personal for many people.As a solo female traveller it was important to me to line up a guide in Tallinn who was experienced in the area, passionate about history, politics and culture and who made me feel safe. I reached out to him and asked for a custom tour to the Rummu Quarry and Murru Prison. Juhan has a great calming presence that instantly felt familiar to me. Conversation was a breeze which made the tour feel like we were catching up as old school friends. And holy smokes did we laugh. He pulled together a fantastic itinerary to Rummu with only a few days notice. He shared many interesting stories on the drive and supplemented the commentary onsite at the prison with an audio guide. Juhan took photos and videos throughout to give as a keepsake which was an added bonus. I happily referred him to several other travellers back at my hotel as his tour was an absolute highlight of my time in Estonia.

My wife and I from Australia chose this tour as we wanted to experience a much of the real Estonia in the short time we were there, and Juhan our tour guide from privatetoursinestonia.com did not disappoint! He customised the itinerary for the day according to our hiking abilities, and as he is a true local his knowledge of the places we went to was excellent. Juhan even took us to a few unscheduled stops on the way back to Tallin that we didn't expect so that was really appreciated. Thank you, Lorraine, for a nice walk through the snowy nature reserve. I had a fabulous experience hiking in Paunkula Nature Park and then visiting the awesome Jagala Waterfall. Juhan is an excellent host and guide - very knowledgeable and able to explain Estonia's complex history so I could follow and understand it, as well as offer information during the adventures. His car is very comfortable to travel in and I felt relaxed with his driving. I learned a lot about Estonia and the Estonian people. I highly recommend Juhan.

Lovely morning out wandering through pristine Estonian forest - our guide Juan was very friendly and a great driver I would recommend this tour if you want to avoid the usual tourist routes
We are so grateful to Juhan for taking us on an unforgettable tour of Tallinn. We were in the city for a few days and hadn’t ventured outside of the old town, and this tour was a perfect way for us to get better acquainted with the other gorgeous districts outside the touristy areas. Fantastic 4 hours of private guiding all over old town, Telliskivi, Kadriorg, Kalamaja, Pirita and so much more along the way. Juhan is kind, patient, and very passionate about sharing his love and knowledge of Estonia and the country’s fascinating history. I am traveling solo and would not have been able to navigate to and learn about so many areas and interesting history on my own, as deeply and with such ease if I wasn’t guided by Juhan. One of the best private tours I’ve taken, ever.
This trip was one of the best things I did in estonia. The guide was fantastic and I learned a lot about estonian historie and saw things that nobody would see on a normal guided tour. You can even choose to things off the beaten track if you want to and go places where nobody has come in over 50 years. If anyone has doubts about thinking this tour, dont dought just do it an you 'll be amazed!

We booked the tour "Beyond the Old Town - Tallinn's Hidden Treasures by Car" spontaneously one day in advance. Communication during the booking process was very good and uncomplicated. Everything went as agreed, so it was very well organized and we had a great opportunity to see more of Tallinn and the suburbs, which is really worth it. Communication in English was flawless. So, a tour with Juhan is highly recommended and we would book another tour with him again on our next visit.
We got an appointment for a trip very quickly and flexibly. The organization worked wonderfully and we learned a lot of new details about Estonia. The English was very understandable and the tour was highly recommended. Definitely on the list next time you visit Estonia!

I highly recommend Juhan's tour if you want to experience Estonia outside of Tallinn. We got to see a lot in the west and east side of the country, and you will visit everything which is shown in the itinerary on their website.
We loved all the cities we visited, Haapsalu, Rakvere, Sillamae, and Narva. Our favorite was definitely the city of 'Narva', located very close to the border between Estonia and Russia.

Wonderful, fantastic tour. This is an amazing experience. Juhan is a native Estonian who grew up in the country he loves. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Estonia and knows great sights to visit. We left Tallinn and the city bustle and headed west to the countryside and the Baltic Sea. We stopped at several small towns and great vantage points to take pictures. Juhan even helped me find my mother's home where she lived with her parents before WWII began. Wonderful tour!
We had a super tour. Picking up from ferry to leaving us at Ferry was smooth and perfect.

A fantastic day out in a gorgeous location. I'm so glad I got to meet Juhan and learn from him about Estonia's history and nature. The forest we visited was beautiful and I never would have known about it on my own. If you're visiting Tallinn and enjoy walking holidays this is a must-do!

Completely recommended. I took the tour to Lahema with Juhan and had a very good experience. Very professional and attentive. He told me about the history of Estonia on the way to the park and then information about the park as we walked. He takes photos of you and makes a gift video of the experience. Excellent service. Juhan took us on a fantastic tour of the Estonian forest, and the (now frozen) Jägala waterfall, despite the -15°C weather conditions. The views were stunning and he was very knowledgeable, giving us an Estonian history lesson and lots of information on the nature we were experiencing.
It's been a great time outside of Talinn in the resort. We had a loveley time and could discover the landscape even though the time was to short and we could have walk further. Juhan shares his knowledges ans answered all the questions about Estonia we had. Tour is recommended.

Me and my partner took two tours with Juhan. Juhan was an excellent guide who always ensured that we were safe and satisfied. He answered any questions we had and was even pointing out to different birds we could here within the nature reserve tour. He told us about Estonia’s history and the historical value of the nature park itself. Additionally, we took the tour of the suburbs which was quite in depth and opened our eyes into how beautiful Tallinn is outwith the old town. Getting to know the history of Tallinn and Estonia while being shown examples of historical significances is exactly what we look for in a tour. There is nothing I can say was bad about the tours it truly was excellent!
I had an amazing time on my tour with Juhan to Narva and the Russian border. He made everything as easy and convenient as possible, picking me up first thing in the morning and dropping me off in the evening. He was willing to accommodate any requests or modifications that I asked for including a quick stop through the Viivikonna ghost town, and he made a video clip that captured the moments of the day. We stopped at several interesting places and towns on the way to the border city of Narva and Juhan was able to explain the current and historical significance of each location. He is deeply knowledgeable about Estonian history and culture, which is why I wanted to take the tour. Estonia is a small country--at the edge of the European Union and on the border of NATO. I find their culture, their language, and their history incredibly interesting and admirable. Juhan helped me gain a glimpse into this. Many travelers visiting Estonia, may only see Tallinn, which is an amazing city. But I also highly recommend taking this tour with Juhan to give you a small sample of what the rest of the country is like.

He has a great knowledge of Estonian history and culture, and we had some engaging conversations regarding anything and everything. He has been working in the tour industry for a while now and his experience definitely shows. Juhan will even record and edit a video recap of your adventures to remember the experience. He was also very accommodating and agreed to take me to Jägala Waterfall after our hike!

I have always been a big fan of Estonia and enjoy very much to promote it in every chance I get. I know that there is so much more in Estonia than Tallinn and I can’t wait to show (or at least tell) You about the country beyond the Old Town.
